Murray Hershman was the founder of Murray Hershman & Associates, the predecessor firm of Hershman, Fallstrom & Crowley, Inc.
Mr. Hershman was an accomplished tax attorney and tax accountant and recognized throughout the country for his special expertise in the tax controversy area. Mr. Hershman regularly consulted with Hershman, Fallstrom & Crowley, Inc. on tax controversy matters and frequently testified as an expert in federal courts and state courts on civil and criminal tax fraud matters.
Mr. Hershman was a member of the Pennsylvania Bar and the U.S. Tax Court, the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association and the Worcester County Bar Association, Sections on Taxation and Bankruptcy. He received his B.A. Degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C. and his J.D. Degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan.
Mr. Hershman was always active in the Worcester community. He served as a member of the Board of Trustees and Executive Committee and was Chairman of the Finance and Endowment Committees of the Jewish Federation of Central Massachusetts. He also served as a member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Finance Committee of the Yeshiva Academy. Mr. Hershman was also an adjunct professor in the MBA program at Clark University teaching courses in taxation and business law and was the creator of the "Tax Minute" radio and television programs that were broadcast throughout Central Massachusetts.
